Singer-Songwriter

Songwriting was Osnat’s first interest as a composer. When she was a teenager, she mainly set texts written by her peers. In recent years she has focused primarily on the poems of Lea Goldberg, though she occasionally writes her own lyrics.

Osnat’s songs are deeply personal, composed in an intuitive and unfiltered way (though informed, perhaps sub-consciously, by years of classical training). Her main influences as a songwriter are Sasha Argov, Yoni Rechter, Matti Caspi, Joni Mitchell, Joanna Newsom, jazz and klezmer.

Below, in addition to her songs, you will also find some of Osnat’s original neo-klezmer tunes, inspired both by traditional klezmer and artists such as John Zorn and Naftule’s Dream.
