The Incarnation of a Shining Desert was commissioned by mezzo-soprano Re’ut Ben-Ze’ev for “IDENTITY Project: NYC-Berlin-Tel Aviv”. It was composed in Cambridge, Massachusetts and completed in March of 2019. The texts in Yiddish, Arabic and Hebrew are by Rivka Basman Ben-Haim, Amal Sh’abi Bishara and Orin Rosner, respectively.
